Deep Fat Fryer...

So today was a pretty ordinary Sunday for us. The most unusual and exciting thing that happened was we inherited a bunch of kitchen appliances and tools from the hub's Grandma. Among those appliances is a deep fat fryer. I've been wanting one of these for a while now. I'm not a big fried food eater, but I have come across a number of recipes that use fryers. The foods on the menu tonight both happened to be things that could be fried. (Chicken strips and french fries.) I wasn't going to be frying them, since I wasn't anticipating having one, but we got one, so I fried!

So for dinner, we ate McDonald's at home. I thought it was super good. The hubs did too. The kids ate okay. Monkey doesn't eat that stuff very well anyhow. Moose liked my french fries. We also borrowed an apple peeler-corer-slicer and they did up a bunch of apples at the table. Moose absolutely loved doing this. It was better than playing at the park. He happily rinsed off apples, and then was able to turn the crank and eat his delicious creations. It was ultimately a super fun dinner. Most unexpected and wonderful.

That was the most exciting thing that happened today. We're currently dehydrating the apples that weren't eaten at dinner. (Another acquisition from Grandma.) Hope they turn out. We'll be snacking dried apples for the next few days.

Can't wait to see Grandma in a few days and tell her what an exciting dinner we had thanks to her! :)
